Using their expertise and experience in semiconductor manufacturing and recognizing the fact that it will take a “semiconductor approach and mentality” to achieve rapid cost reductions and improved performance, Pegasus Solar provides consulting services to solar manufacturers to improve their efficiencies, yields and thus reduce costs.

The rapid depletion of fossil fuels and the accelerated threat of global warming and climate change have necessitated the adoption of renewable forms of energy.

While solar technology has always been available, the biggest objection has been cost. There is an urgent need to address the affordability of solar.

In order to achieve cost parity with conventional energy sources, improvements will be required on all fronts including developing a “semiconductor pace of innovation”. 

Semiconductor manufacturing tools such as rapid fault detection, advanced process control and integrated yield management which enabled rapid technology introductions and fast yield ramps are now critically needed in the solar industry to reduce costs.
